Transitions in Motherhood
I am an LCSW/mental health therapist with a focus on mother’s and their families. I have a private practice with Emma Santizo called Transitions in Motherhood. We offer therapy for individuals, couples, children, and families. We also offer infant massage classes for parents and their baby. I feel that through supporting the wellbeing of mothers, the whole family benefits. It is an honor to support the mental health of families and share in their personal journey.
What inspired you to get to where you are now?
I think having a mother who overcame a lot of obstacles has brought a lot of inspiration to my life and led me to the career I have today.
What is your favorite book and why?
Becoming the Parent You Want to Be by Laura Davis and Janis Keyser is one of my favorite books because it removes judgment from parenting and at the same time honors the voice of children.
What is your favorite way to stay balanced?
I stay balanced by talking to my dear friends and my sisters, having a cup of tea, meeting with other professionals in my field, and sharing ideas.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
My favorite destination is Costa Rica. My family and I were able to experience so much nature and wildlife that it reminds me to stay connected with my internal rhythm, minus the electronic distractions.
