Lucky You Creative
I am owner and creative director for LuckyYou! Creative and we do graphic design of any kind. From magazines to business cards, billboards to brochures, we take simple words and images and create memorable, intelligent and noticeable design. With over 12 years of experience, we create the professional look that your clients will trust. I am also a mom to my daughter Ama who is 7, my son Zayd who is 3 and my daughter Aislin who was born this past December.
I find graphic design important because we are bombarded so many times each day with visual graphics from every angle. Being visually represented in a professional and noticible way is most definitely an asset to any business who wants to grow and be successful.
What inspired you to get where you are now?
In a way both my children and husband have inspired me to be where I am today. If you would have asked me 10 years ago if I wanted to own my own business, I would have said no. But, once we started having children, my husband helped me realize that my career could go hand in hand with the flexiblity that is needed for family life. I am so happy I took the leap of business ownership and that I am able to continue designing AND spend more time with my kids.
What is your favorite book and why?
I am not sure I can choose just one. I enjoy reading fiction books such as Harry Potter and Hunger Games because they transport me to a different world for a short period of time. This, in a way, becomes a short vacation for my mind.
What is your favorite way to stay balanced?
My favorite way to stay balanced is by savoring the small moments. Whether it be singing in the car, seeing my baby smile or having an intellectual conversation with my husband, each of these takes my mind off the to-do list and reminds me to look around and smell the flowers more often.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I would say my favorite vacation is one where we just relax. So many vacations are filled with things to do, but we seem to have the best time if we expect the least and go with the flow. I have so many more places to visit in the world. I can’t say I have a favorite just yet.
